EAHL 7th Conference in France

The 7th Conference of the EAHL “Innovation & Healthcare New challenges for Europe” was held in Toulouse, France under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (26-27 September 2019). Prior to the conference, a PhD seminar was held, in which young scholars presented their research. This was indeed an inspiring event, which indicated that we have a new generation of promising researchers.

After the PhD seminar, a reception was given in honor of Henriette Roscam Abbing, one of the founding mothers of the association. She gave the lecture: “To receive healthcare in any other European Union country and to be reimbursed – The European Directive on cross border healthcare at the service of European patients” (held in French).

The conference gathered around 250 participants from over 35 different countries in beautiful surroundings at Hôtel Dieu St Jacques (a former hospital building). Around 140 abstracts were submitted, more than 100 oral presentations were given and almost 40 posters presented. The keynote speakers were:

Judith Sándor: Human Genome Editing: What are the Legal Implications for Europe and for the World?
Henriette Roscam Abbing: Innovative technologies: a challenge for equal access to health care in Europe
Tom Goffin (replacing Herman Nys): 25 Years European Journal of Health Law: The past, the present and the future according to Herman Nys

- 2nd Best poster award: Gauthier Chassang, Anastasia Constantin, Bettina Couderc, Emmanuelle Rial-Sebbag “Legal and Ethical Issues of Human Germline Editing”
- 3rd Best poster award: Zeynep Reva “Legal dimension of the traditional and complementary medicine practices in Turkey”

Abstracts' submission deadline has been extended!

Taking into account requests from members the organizing committee decided to postpone the deadline until June 15th.

Nevertheless, the registration should be done at the same time as the abstract submission, the payment will be asked after acceptance of the abstract.

The next EAHL Conference dates have been announced.

The conference will take place on 26-27 September, 2019 at the University of Toulouse (France), and will be organized in partnership with the Unit INSERM UMR 1027 University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse 1 Capitole University, the Research Institute of European International and Comparative Law (IRDEIC), the Jean Monnet Chair in European Health Law and Medicinal products as well as the Association for Research and Training in Medical Law (ARFDM) under the topic «Innovation & Healthcare».News added: 10.02.2018.
