Karl Harald Søvig, Norway
Karl Harald Søvig is professor of law at the university of Bergen, Norway, where he is the former dean (2017–2025). His main research interests are health law, administrative law and children’s rights. He is a deputy member of The Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board, and has served as temporary judge at the city court and high court. Søvig is a previous chair of the European Association of Health Law (2017–2023).
Claudia Seitz, Liechtenstein
Professor of Public Law, European Law, Public International Law and Life Sciences Law at the Faculty of Law of the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) and Head of the Institute for European and International Law (IEIL), Visiting Professor at the University of Ghent, Lecturer at the Universities of Basel and Bonn. Expert in the Global Initiative AI for Health (GI-AI4H) of WHO and WIPO as well as in Working Groups of the EU AI Office and Co-Editor of the European Health and Pharmaceutical Law Review (EHPL).
Emmanuelle Rial-Sebbag, France
Lawyer, Ph.D in Health Law, working at the INSERM Unit 1027 in Toulouse (Epidemiology and public health analysis: risks, chronic diseases and handicaps) in the team of Genomics, biotherapy and public health: interdisciplinary approach as a permanent researcher in health law and bioethics. As an Associate lecturer in bio-law and bioethics at the University of Medicine in Toulouse involved in several research projects on the topics of biobanking, innovative therapies, biomedical research involving human beings and direct-to-consumer genetic tests. Currently developing a research on the Governance of Research in biotechnology and the role played by regulations at national and European level.
Dobrochna Bach-Golechka, Poland
Dobrochna Bach-Golechka is an Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw, Institute of International Law, Department of European Law. Her research interest within health law lies within European health law, human rights, morally sensitive medical services, paramedic regulations. In 2018 she acted as a General Reporter of the International Academy of Comparative Law for the topic Compensation Schemes for Damages Caused by Healthcare and Alternatives to Court Proceedings (to be published by Springer). She had been appointed a judge ad hoc at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg (2016-2018).
Vera Lúcia Raposo
Vera Lúcia Raposo is Full Professor of Law and Technology and Vice-Dean for Research and Internationalisation at NOVA School of Law, NOVA University Lisbon. Her research focuses primarily on digital law and biomedical law, particularly on artificial intelligence, data governance, medical liability and emerging technologies.
She is a member of the European Association of Health Law, a Governor of the World Association for Medical Law, a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Health Law, and a peer reviewer for several academic journals. Currently, she is also a member of the Commission for Artificial Intelligence of the Portuguese Medical Association (Ordem dos Médicos), and since May 2026, a member of the Ethics and Deontology Office of the High Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Vera has published extensively in the fields of technology law and health law. Her recent work includes two forthcoming books: The European Artificial Intelligence Act: Promises and Perils? (Springer, ed.) and Intelligent Medicine: How Will Artificial Intelligence Affect the Standard of Care, Patient Safety and Medical Malpractice? (An EU-Based Perspective) (Brill).
In 2024, she was elected Fellow of The Hastings Center. Since 2026, she has also served on the AI Act Advisory Forum, representing NOVA University Lisbon.
Advisory Board members are expected to:
• Attend EAHL meetings when requested by the EAHL Executive Board
• Make suggestions for improvements of the running of the Association (to be sent to EAHL Executive Director)
• Make suggestions for activities/opportunities to be offered by the EAHL to its members (to be sent to EAHL Executive Director)
• To offer assistance with hosting EAHL Seminars/Conferences etc
• To offer advice to EAHL Executive Board when requested
