The objective of this Working Group is the improvement of health law teaching and training across Europe, through exchanges of best practice and experience, cross-fertilisation of ideas and the maximisation of dissemination opportunities.
A particular area of unmet need that emerged during EAHL 2008 was capacity building and training in Eastern European countries. As an initial face-to-face forum the EAHL hosted a one-day programme on Teaching and Training of Health Law in Europe during the Summer European University on health law and bioethics, 1-10 July 2009, Toulouse, France.
In additional to developing a network of persons and centres interested in the teaching and training of health law, the EAHL has developed this members-only area of this website where members can share teaching materials, curricula, and examples of best practice. Please, post or send examples of your teaching materials to this website.
New initiative - development of online module on European health law
In 2010, the EAHL Working Group secured funding from the School of Law, University of Edinburgh to develop a new online distance learning module on European Health Law. Edinburgh Law School is the host for an innovative distance learning platform, eScript, which wil be used to deliver this module. What we need:
- volunteers to help develop content on a 10-week teaching module on European Health Law
- ideas for the content of the module, ranging from issues of EU law, human rights and specific topics
- volunteers to act as tutors in the delivery of this module
